Chinese LEI Registrar Launches

LEI China, a local operating unit (LOU) for legal entity identifier (LEI) registration operated by the China Financial Standardization Technical Committee (CFSTC), has started operating, according to Irina Leonova and Nigel Jenkinson of the LEI Regulatory Oversight Committee (ROC) secretariat office.

LEI ROC, established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB), certifies LOUs. In August 2013, LEI ROC certified People's Bank of China to sponsor the China Financial Standardization Technical Committee to serve as a preliminary LOU for the Chinese market.
