The range of services on offer include co-location, disaster recovery, cloud and IT services, and a linked ecosystem within its datacenter facilities. Recently, Markit selected Equinix datacenters to host its MarkitServ Credit Centre program, while it has partnered with regional companies to build out its presence in cities such as Osaka, and newer exchanges, Aquis Exchange among them, are now located within its London campus.

The datacenter space is a fiercely competitive one, where vendors not only have to compete with one another, but also with established market entities like stock exchanges. While this only looks to increase, Equinix’s expansion into consultancy and other value-added offerings give it a definitive edge.
