Solarflare Bows Data-Ordering Timestamps, Preps Security Adds

The timestamping API, dubbed Wire-Order Delivery API (WODA), applies a nanosecond-level timestamp to every incoming data packet, and uses that timestamp to decide in which order data being transported over its OpenOnload middleware should be delivered to applications. In other instances, operating systems processing large volumes of data would have no way of knowing in which order data arrived and should arrive at the consuming application, says Solarflare chief executive Russell Stern.
