xCelor Debuts Single-Digit Nanosecond Data Switches

xCelor's xPort switch series includes three components: the xPort Replicator (XPR), which replicates incoming data from one port to 15, 37 or 47 ports, acting like an optical tap, with diagnostics, SNMP (simple network management protocol) support and out-of-band management; the xPort Patch Panel (XPP), which allows users to re-route connections on demand, and can be used by broker clients as a low-latency kill switch; and the xPort Mesh (XPM), which combines the XPR and XPP into a single device with unlimited port groupings.

Pricing for the devices is tiered based on the functionality and number of ports supported, ranging from $13,000 for the XPR with 16 ports to $23,000 for the XPM with 48 ports.
