Goldman Sachs Faces Losses After Technical Glitch Sent Erroneous Trades

Goldman Sachs experienced technical difficulties yesterday causing a large number of orders to be sent by mistakes.

A software error is said to be responsible for sending mispriced orders to exchanges operated by NYSE Euronext, Nasdaq OMX and the Chicago Board Options Exchange at the opening of the trading day.

"The exchanges are working to resolve the issue. Neither the risk nor the potential loss is material to the financial condition of the firm," says a spokesperson from Goldman Sachs.
