Momentum AM Live on Charles River IMS
Johannesburg-based Momentum Asset Management has selected the Charles River Development Investment Management System to automate portfolio management, order and execution management, and compliance monitoring across its equity, fixed-income and derivatives operations. Momentum is, according to Burlington, MA-based Charles River, the vendor's seventh buy-side client in the republic.
Momentum Asset Management ─ a subsidiary of Momentum Investments, which itself is a subsidiary of MMI Holdings, was formed in late 2011 through the merger of RMB Asset Management and Metropolitan Asset Managers ─ has approximately $22 billion under management spread across a variety of mandates from risk-profiled unitized pooled portfolios to segregated specialist asset-class portfolios.
Charles River recently established a permanent regional presence in South Africa; John Reardon, regional manager, originally from Durban on the country's east coast, is now based in Johannesburg.
