In a world of flying cars and rocket backpacks, over-the-counter (OTC) traded derivatives are the rusty old jalopies dragging along the highway at 25 miles per hour. They are slow, they are extremely low-tech, and they look about the same as they did 20 years ago. While the pace of technology in finance whizzes by like a blur overhead, OTC derivatives dealers have trundled happily along at their own speed.
