2018 to be the ‘Year of Implementation’ for Blockchain
Consortia and bank experts say that the technology is ready to move from theory and pilot projects into full production environments next year.
As financial services firms have continued to invest in distributed-ledger technology (DLT)—one estimate from Deloitte in June 2017 placed the value of this funding at over $1 billion—investors are now expecting delivery on the technology’s promise during the course of next year, says Todd McDonald, co-founder of DLT consortium R3.
