BBH Enhances Settlement Functions via Omgeo Hook-Up

Brown Brothers Harriman becomes the first global custodian to go live on Omgeo’s ALERT GC Direct service.

New York-based Brown Brothers Harriman becomes the first global custodian to go live on Omgeo’s ALERT GC Direct service.

According to Omgeo, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. (DTCC), this relationship is an key step in improving the management of account information and Standing Settlement Instruction (SSI) data related to the settlement of trades between custodians and buy-side firms, and is the primary goal of the SSI utility.

As a result of the Omgeo-BBH hook-up, BBH is now better able to maintain and electronically provide SSI data to its clients and/or their investment
