Investment Book of Record (IBOR)

Like some other Canadian buy-side firms, CPPIB, which manages over $200 billion, has invested in building an IBOR platform, which is used to ensure accurate reconciliation against accounting systems, custodians and fund administrators.

While accounting systems focus on end-of-day information, portfolio managers require start-of-day information so that they can look into their investable cash. Hurley says that IBOR platforms come in three flavors: an IBOR attached
