"CLTX has succeeded in becoming an important execution exchange for commodity derivatives in a remarkably short space of time," says Peter Reitz, CEO of EEX. "Its core asset classes are a good fit with our existing markets. Reitz notes that the move is part of a larger push into Asia by Deutsche Börse.

CLTX CEO Richard Baker has been looking to diversify from over-the-counter (OTC) freight and commodity markets to exchange-traded futures and energy.
