Barclays Capital, FPL, RTS
Officials from the investment banking arm of Barclays Bank, Barclays Capital, have announced the appointments of Ian Montgomery as COO and John Kennedy as chief compliance officer (CCO) for its Canadian operation. They will support the execution of the firm's strategy. Montgomery's responsibilities will entail coordinating front-office activities in Canada. He will be based in New York and report to Justin Bull, COO of global markets with BarCap. Kennedy will be based in BarCap's Toronto office, where he will be responsible for coordinating compliance oversight over all matters relating to BarCap's Canadian business. Kennedy will report to Alex Guest, head of global futures, Barx and e-commerce compliance, with responsibility for Canadian operations.
FPL ELECTS CO-CHAIRS
Industry messaging standards body FIX Protocol Ltd. (FPL) has announced election results from a number of committees. Ric Elvir, head of U.S. eBusiness for fixed income at UBS, is now one of the co-chairs of the FPL global fixed-income committee. Matt Sampson, associate director of business architecture at CME Group, has been re-elected co-chair of the FPL Global Technical Committee, a post that he assumed in 2005. Marcio Castro, IT officer of trading systems for BM&FBovespa, has been appointed co-chair of the FPL Latin America subcommittee.
LANNOY HEADS SINGAPORE RTS
Trading platform provider Realtime Systems Group (RTS) has hired Stéphane Lannoy as managing director for the new Asia-Pacific headquarters. RTS will be moving to its new facility in Singapore on Oct. 1.
OMGEO GAINS THREE
Industry affirmation utility Omgeo has appointed Steve Anglin support manager for the Americas. Anglin will be based in New York, where he will report to Armando Hernandez, director of sales support, Americas, with Omgeo. Prior to his new post, Anglin was the product manager for derivatives and collateral at JPMorgan Chase. Greg Ballesty has been appointed sales support manager for the Asia-Pacific region. He will be based in Sydney and report to Marco Knaap, sales director of Omgeo ProtoColl. Anthony Cure has been hired as sales support manager EMEA. He will be based in London and also will report to Knaap. Cure joins from Credit Suisse, where he held the post of vice president and derivatives emerging markets middle office manager.
LANGLET JOINS ITRS
The International Trading Room Software (ITRS) Group has hired Thibaud Langlet as the regional managing director for its Asia-Pacific operation. Langlet will be based in Hong Kong. Prior to the role, he was managing director a GL Trade for the U.K., Nordics and the Middle East.
ACTANT APPOINTS HJALTMAN
Lars Hjaltman is now head of development for autoquote and trading software provider Actant, where he will be operating the vendor's European and the U.S. markets.
