Would DB-NYSE Inhibit Technology 'Innovation' While Creating Efficiencies?

In the wake of recent high-profile failed exchange mergers, all eyes have turned to the granddaddy of them all: the proposed combination of the Deutsche Börse (DB) and NYSE Euronext.

While the super merger has received shareholder approval on both sides, the finality of this deal is far from a slam-dunk, says Robert Hegarty, global head of market structure at Thomson Reuters.
