ETAS Panel: Data Science Tops Priorities

Institutions see data science as the most important challenge and opportunity facing their data management functions.

The results trumped stalwart issues such as legacy systems and data security, though panelists warned that with any wave of new technology and capabilities, it’s important to ensure the foundations of good data governance remain a priority. Firms may not be able to translate data governance into immediate dollar value, but will benefit in the long term, they said. “Data science is important, but what comes before is foundational,” said Hany Choueiri, head of data governance and strategy for EMEA
