SEC Preps Company Data Downloads
The data will initially include companies' quarterly and annual financial statements, as filed using the machine-readable XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) standard -- though the SEC will organize this structured data into combined datasets using other formats for bulk download and analysis -- and will be expanded in 2015 to cover footnotes to financial statements.
