The latest release, version 8, will allow customers to trace the provenance of an individual piece of data from the moment it enters their systems, says Richard Petti, chief executive of Asset Control.

"Data quality is all about being able to prove the provenance. If you've got a piece of data and you've got a price, and the regulator wants to know where that price came from, unless you have an audit trail on that piece of data, you can't prove what it is─it's just a piece of data," he says.
