Markit Bows ETP Analytics

technical blocks

UK-based data vendor Markit has unveiled a new analytics tool for exchange-traded products, dubbed Markit ETP Analytics, which performs more than 1,300 calculations to provide metrics around performance, liquidity, risk and benchmark tracking, in response to the growth, complexity, and increased use of ETPs by institutional investors.

The tool measures performance by providing historical regression analysis such as market price returns and net asset value total returns; provides correlation via statistics on an ETP's ability to track specific benchmarks; provides statistics on assets under management growth, changes in the number of shares outstanding, and investment inflows and outflows; trading and liquidity trends such as bid-ask spreads, volumes and turnover; breakdowns of holdings across sectors, regions and asset classes; and data for analyzing risk metrics, including greeks, R-squared, and standard deviation.
