Xinhua, the official news agency of the Chinese government, has launched a company to provide China with access to the Internet. The Hong Kong-based China Internet Corp. (CIC), which is owned by Xinhua and a group of Hong Kong investors, will provide China with limited Internet access through a members-only online service called China Wide Web.
